While DIY has many redeeming qualities/features...If you are working 80+ hours a week, you may just never get to all the things you want/need to do that way...and with such little family time, why waste it mowing grass is the local teen needs the work? Also, if you make $75hr, it is difficult...and maybe financially unwise to do a lot of $8hr work that takes you away from the $75hr job. Especially if there is a local pro who needs work and does it faster and better. It doesn't necessarily mean you are lazy. It might just mean you are working smarter. Sitting on your butt in an air conditioned house writing a business plan that will bring in tens of thousand per year for the rest of your life might just take priority over spending the day mowing your lawn or changing the oil in your car.

I do all the things you list myself (as much as time allows)...except I go to wok a 4:30am and often don't even get home until 8:30pm...and then try to do all that "stuff" on my "farm"...and also try to help out my aged mother take care of herself and her place. Needless to say, I often don't get to much of that stuff and it sits for weeks...or even years waiting for some time off. I wish I could find someone to do some of it for me that would do a good job at a reasonable price.

Some are born free. Some have freedom thrust upon them. Others simply surrender
