The lift doesn't work so well with a trailer behind it. I try to keep the trailer as light as possible, so extra tires, fuel jugs, even the trailer ramps go in the bed of the truck.
I think GM stopped making 1500 extended cab long beds when the new generation came out in 14.
I should point out the current truck is a 2000 F150 Supercab Long bed, I've had it around 11 years now. I'd keep it except I'm scared I may have to change the plugs some day. And the bed sides are really starting to rust out. Before that I had a '89 Silverado 1500 Extended cab long bed, had that many years too. When I find a truck I like I keep it a long time.
