Today I changed the Transmission Oil (my favorite thing about porsches is the specialty lubricants ordered from the internet :roll eyes:
I had a lift. Those plugs were REALLY on there; it took a 3ft breaker bar and a lot of "convincing" to get it off! There was a lot of oil coming out of the fill plug hole, does this stuff expand a lot when heated?? I found a moderate amount of small metal shavings on the drain plug. None were any larger than .5mm. Filled with DELVAC... $60 btw.
I also used this opportunity to remove the last AC line from the car. This is the one that goes from the drier to the evaporator. It requires removing the skid plate under the front sway bar. An easy deal but I haven't removed that part before so there was some nice surprises waiting on the other side.
I also took a picture of the fittings connecting the through-tunnel fuel lines which were at least as rusty as those brake line fittings. For some reason that picture did not come out. My heart sank when I saw it though. What do you think, would you take this p-car off the road?
Thought I should end on a high note, so heres one for motivation.
