Holger,
We get the Passat in North America (I had a '93 and have driven a number of others). Now that my children have moved out, I'm thinking a Polo sized vehicle would suit well and we have enjoyed our six VWs to date.
There are a lot of interesting cars we don't see this side of the Atlantic.
For example this Alfa Romeo Brera.
