I used to live in Newcastle (Between Bellevue and Renton), and had an 18' sailboat that I used to launch in Lk Washington and Shilshole. I know all about Lake union speeds by watching the boats getting busted while sitting at Gas Works.
The Kirkland public marina is always interesting for people watching. I've seen some good sights there on my friends boat.
I'm looking forward to heading back for a vacation, and we're hoping to hit the San Juans for a night after the 4th.
