Just so you know; Yarrow Bay Marina doesn't allow their boats out of the locks . . .or over night. (so won't work for a trip to the SanJuans. . .you likely know that)
Kenmore Air is a great way to go. Especailly with any time constraints . . those float planes rock!
I've done the RocheHarbor stay a few times. They have little boats you can rent there as well, for putting around.
Oh yeah. . .the Police visit: It was no big deal, my wife was driving, and those laid-back "cops on boats" aren't out to piss off women.
