Which is kind of funny since that's a British invention. I do love Chicken Tikka Masalla and it's fraternal twin butter chicken.

I eat Indian as often as possible. The place that I go to for a buffet, uses light spice on the buffet. It's a family owned/run place and they told us that they did that when their kids were young and then when they tried to ramp up as the kids got older, everyone complained. Occassionally the buffet is a little spicy, and more often the same dishes ordered for dinner are more spicey. Neither way gives me heartburn.

I find that something with bubbles in it helps with spicy food, whether that is beer, soda (stopped drinking soft drinks many years ago) or these days often club soda. Club soda (or the version you get out of a soda machine which actually has no "soda" but is just carbonated water) really cuts the heat where plain water doesn't.
