Yes I know that. But in this case the bidder did actually place those 6 bids in 2 minutes. Looking at the bid history - with Show Automatic Bids turned on - this bidder was rapidly upping their bid and being informed they were not the highest (due to another bidder's prior max bid) So they were stop-hunting to finally get on top - $4K later.
Even though you don't often see this kind of run-up until the last minutes, this was probably a legit buyer - who stayed on top until the last minute when the winner who "wasn't serious" snatched the win. Which is lucky for the Seller - who otherwise would have had to let the car go for $35K-when the average ask for the 20 Cabs now on eBay is $57K (ranging from $40K to $90K)
Which brings us back to the original interest this no-reserve auction - to see what the market really is for one of these cars. Appears to be $35K for this one - which may be bad news for those asking well north of $50K - but we have another chance to find out when this renewed listing ends.
