I had one in high school and beyond with a Supertrapp on it. They did better keeping the oil cool than the Honda XL of the day. No one in our group had a CR as we all road on the road as well. They have a lot of bottom end grunt for some of the trails but not good for MX. Hare and Hound they were OK. You could traverse some deep water with them. I finally tried giving mine away but no one would take it so I sold it fro $100. It had bad valve guides and a broken throttle cable by then. Looking at a local XT 600 that I can probably get for $500. Good shape but hasn't been ridden in a couple years and i think I was the last one to ride it. I took my MC license test on it when the previous previous owner had it. Got chewed out for not slowing down enough for the speed bump. I said I slowed down plenty and have a foot and a half of travel, I wasn't going to lose control.
