True story...
That first clip is of an Avalanche v Coyotes game in Phoenix. A buddy and I were there just a few rows up from the glass near the goal end.
We had Patrick Roy in that goal 1st and 3rd periods. His last name is pronounced "wah" not "roy" and we began chanting "Roy, Roy, Roy" stressing the word "ro-eee" during every quiet spot.
We did it so much that a huge group around us joined in. We caught him looking our direction more than a few times.
I believe Krys Kolanos was a rookie at the time got a penalty shot against the famed Saint Patrick. We were screaming 'RO-EEE, RO-EEE" during the shot.
You can see what happened. It was huge and the place erupted in applause. Roy flipped out and was tossed.
People were high fiveing and crediting us for getting under his skin. I'd like to believe that but the Pros have a way of shutting out the noise.
At least that's what I've heard.
