I call it Wayne Carini Syndrome..
But its really a culmination of a number of things.
Every yo-yo that thinks he knows something about cars all of a sudden wants to be a flipper.
They've seen chasing the classics and other such shows, including many of the stupid auctions The Wall street Journal, NY Times, Wash Post and most major newspapers have done articles on collector car values rising. And the talk in the office always seems to turn to collector cars and whatta think this is worth?
I saw the change coming, I even saw it here on Pelican as more and more parts flippers showed up.. they weren't really interested in helping the community or in many cases build or restoring these cars.. they had figured out that "hey, I can make a few bucks parting out these old Porsches"
So yea, I think we're all experiencing this as I've had a couple of folks knock on my door, leave cards etc.. caught one a couple of weeks ago peeking under the covered 911 in my drive. I popped out onto the deck to let him know that he was on his way to loosing an arm!
He said; oh I just wondered if it was for sale?
