I live in Calif. and just got back last night from spending a week in Missouri. 100 miles south of
Kansas City. I know, it is not Tenn. but I got to see a different culture of us Americans.
It is true... everyone is friendly, no gangs, no graffiti, a lot of beer drinkers.
Every turn off of the Hi-way will be a Church, Guns & Ammo, and a liquor store.
Amish, with horse & buggy trotting along the shoulders of the roads.
Armadillos, big shiny black snakes on the shoulders also.

Really nice 2000 sq ft homes with basements on acres of land for 200K.
Lots of rain and humidity.
A lot of unemployment and a lot of mobile homes with rusted out trucks scattered around too.
But I fell in love with the slow life and how everyone knows and helps each other out.
At least the community where my sister and brother-in-law have their farm.

I wouldn't mind leaving Calif. for what I saw in that part of Missouri anyway.
Will have to go back in the winter for a second opinion.
