I've been back to Only, TN (about an hour outside of Nashville) a few times. You have to be on tick watch. I was there in spring so humidity wasn't bad but there was a serious cold snap that surprised me a bit. It is green and beautiful. But I don't think I could live there. While the wife and I are trying to figure out exit strategies, the reality is that we're both enamored with the diversity that exists in CA. But it certainly can be a pita living here, it is expensive, and not for everyone. YMMV.
