Fly to Nicaragua or Peru and rent a car with a rack and follow every dirt road heading off to the direction of the beach. You'd be surprised how often you can be alone in good waves.

Or, for $2500 you can spend 5 days at a surf camp in Chicama. You won't be thee only guy there, but there's a lot more waves than people.
