For a ceiling fan, I have a basic Home Depot "Hampton Bay" jobbie - nothing fancy - works great.
I also have a 1600CFM gable fan mounted inside the shop, near the ceiling, to suck out any fumes and whatnot. I use the gable fan as a "whole house fan" in the summer - it's on a timer and I run it for an hour or so first thing in the morning to cool down the shop for the day.
My shop is 25x25 with 10' walls
