I had dinner Saturday night with
Dave Smith (Prophet 5 + the MIDI interface),
Roger Linn (LM-1 Drum machine) &
Tom Oberheim (SEM modules etc etc). All of them (plus Robert Moog) changed the sound of music forever from the early 70s & on. It was an intimate dinner for 45 management people + special guests that we co-host every year at the close of Sweetwater’s Gearfest in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The wine flowed prodigiously (French of course
) & the food was spectacular. Good times. It almost made me forget about the 7 days I spent in scintillating FW . . .
Sweetwater btw, is a $500M Musical Instrument & Pro Gear vendor with an amazing facility in FW. If you are a musician or a gearhead, you have probably bought something from them.
