Funny how that happens...when government takes gun ownership away from the otherwise honest citizens...the sheep become more so for those wolves who keep their teeth. "hot" crime rate now up in both britland and oz...that is, human predators who crash in, not caring if anyone is home or not. In the USA, those states that have "concealed carry" laws, the rate of such predatory crime has gone down. Predators seem to prefer victims they know won't fight back... All that said, I think a German Shepherd is a good breed choice. I'd suggest buying a pair of litter mates. Loyal to each other, and to you as well..You see, it's relatively easy for an armed thug to take out one dog. But two? That's a real problem to the predator...
