There are two types of fuel pumps, ones with external check valves and ones with internal check valves. The ones with internal check valves have long necks on the output side where the check valve resides. Those fuel pumps have an adapter fitting between the pump and the output fuel line equipped with a banjo fitting. It looks like the fitting in your picture. But I thought the pumps with internal check valves were only used in earlier 911s like 1978/1979.
