I bought my first computer in 1979.....
I regularly work on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. They all have their idiosyncrasies but none of them are a POS. When I work on a computer for personal stuff, I prefer to use the Mac. I have to use Windows to run the AIM software for my lap timer/data logger.
I bought my personal Mac way back in 2008 and it is still powerful enough today to do what I want. It runs the latest version of Mac OS and will run the next version too. Except for some third-party RAM that failed (lifetime warranty), the computer has been flawless. Yes, it cost more than Windows-based systems of 2008. But, the user experience, quality, and resale value make the investment worth it.
If you don't like change, don't change. But don't call something a POS that you really know nothing about.
