I remember passing a wreck on the interstate where a little dog had jumped out of the car and was running down the median along oncoming traffic - and a guy several hundred feet behind it "running" after it in his flip flops ... Not sure if he was able to fetch the dog before it got run over ... I remind my family of this when we travel and everyone wears shoes ...

+1000...totally agree with aigel! Plus I can't stand the thingy between the toes.
OTOH I live in my Teva's almost year round. These are it for me:
Super comfy, stable on all ground, waterproof...and your toes are well protected! When it's cold out I'll just put on some really thick BLACK socks underneath for that ultracool suburban professional look!
