Saturday I went over to a local PCA member's house to help remove and disassemble a 914 engine. The car belongs to the widow of another PCA member that recently died from lukemia. He was 32 years old and left behind a wife and infant child. We are trying to get the car fixed so that his widow can sell it, as it is far easier to sell a running car. When we got it pulled apart and checked, the #4 cylinder dropped a valve seat at speed, and the seat ate the head and the piston before shattering and leaving pieces imbedded between the cylinder and the piston. The engine had new cylinders, pistons, and a complete top end overhaul 50 miles ago.


I am looking for ONE 2.0L Euro Piston and Cylinder. If anyone has a good low mileage one that they would be willing to part with for a reasonable price, the Maverick Region PCA members that are working on this car would be eternally in your debt. Please contact me if you have a lead on one.
