G50 clutch not disengaging...help?
Guys,
Some of you might recall..I have a 86' 930 fully built by Peter Dawe, including G50 conversion. Well....everything basically new (6K miles on Eng and Trans) and I just experienced some strange clutch issues this weekend...never had a problem ever.
Sat morning - went for drive....couldn't get the car in gear (clutch fully depressed). So, I shut car off, restarted, and no problems. Drove for about an hour or so. (thought it was a fluke or pressure plate stuck on flywheel, as I washed car night before).
This morning, I took my son for a drive......drove for about 30min, parked for coffee. When I came out and restarted, I could not get car in gear (at all). Fortunately, I was on a hill, and rev/sync'd into 2nd gear and made it home - barely. On the highway, I would occasionally press the clutch several times, and could feel it and see rpm's spike occasionally disengage, when I did.
Finally, I put the car on the lift and had my wife press the clutch...I could see the throughout arm functioning properly (inspection plate), no leaks (at slave or master cyl) and everything looked fine. I re-bled just to be certain, and no air in the line.
I'm thinking something internal has broken (t/o bearing or pressure plate failure). I've ruled out a "sticking" flywheel/p.plate, slave or master cyl, air in the lines, etc......the clutch is a KEP and has low miles on it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Frank
