I have one of each, never really noticed one being stiffer than the other, but I'm sure they are. I like both for different reasons. Warm afternoons and evenings in the Cabriolet are unbeatable. Black and tan is a nice combo and for what it's worth, neither of mine have working A/C.
The Mercedes 300SL is the only coupe that is more expensive than the cabriolet version. The Porsche 356's lines are destroyed by removing the top but I will gladly trade my 1962 coupe for one any day of the week.... the 911 will be the same soon.
