No one NEEDS a telescope to see the Earth but just look off at the horizon and you CAN see the Earth! Venus, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn can be seen without a telescope. Even with a 21 telescope they are little more than a speck. Venus is never more than a bright white blob. Mars is a bright reddish blob. Saturn has the rings that make it look like a oval. Jupiter and the rest are just blobs or specks.
Many scenic overlooks have telescopes to look at the view of parts of the earth, just small parts of the earth.
I guess I should say I have personally seen all 9 planets directly with my own eyes. Some planets needed the additional light gathering necessary of a telescope but it was still photons from the sun bouncing off of the planet and directly into my eyes after bouncing of of some mirrors.
