I used the old thin metal gasket sealed with the Indian Head sealant and it worked fine, keep the coating very thin as the are precisely machined surfaces.
I used simple bathroom vasoline, clear type to lume o-rings, busted one the first time I put it back together getting in too much of a hurry, but replaced that one an it has been fine ever since.
