On my first date with the lady that I have now been married to for 23 years we discussed the Far Side. We were both big fans so we knew the other had strange sense of humor and must be worth getting to know each other.

The Far Side has mastery over irony. When I was in college, the school newspaper ran Mat Groenig (sp?) comics, which later gave rise to The Simpsons.
