The cross bar (thwart) is a piece of aluminum pipe and can be spliced or copied by a welding shop. Same with the crack. If yours has as many ribs as the picture I think you scored a factory lightweight. Extra ribs but a thinner skin IIRC. 60 lb instead of 75 lb
I paddled over 1000 mi in a Grumman in the summer of 1975 in Quetico park (The Canadian side of the boundary waters wilderness area in Minnesota.
Very tough canoe. Well worth a proper fix .
