It is some of both.
I've been knocking down saplings by hand and I had some huge oak trees trimmed by professionals. They chipped all the saplings for me and left the mulch. Now I have a pile of mulch as big as a full size van. I would be so much easier to spread that stuff out if I had a tractor. With a loader bucket I could fill up my pick-up and drive it around to where I need the mulch.
Also now that the saplings are gone the area is ready for a bush hog.
I keep drooling over the new John Deere models and they have some aggressive financing options. I doubt I will make it another six months without one.
