Since I'm installing a new alt (Bosch) in my 83 SC Cab, I found this post on the process of verifying my wiring. Post #3 is absolutely correct. In fact, you can see the posts have a stamping near them that read B+ and D-. B+ is the red wire (positive) and D- is ground (brown wires) leaving the unlabeled post as 61, the blue wire. Wachuko's alt has the posts label + and -. Hopefully this brings closure and helps others in the future!
