****SPOILER ALERT****
Another piece of trivia: they used a 1967 Camaro full of explosives as a stand in for the Challenger in the Bulldozer scene.
Vanishing Point fits in with other good car movies from the late 60's to early to mid 70's like
Gone in 60 seconds,
Two-Lane Blacktop and
Duel. All seemed to concentrate on the cars being integral characters to the story line. If you want to go further in that direction,
Maximum Overdrive and
Christine seemed to take that premise to the next level, giving the cars lives, wants and desires outside their owners control.
Two-Lane Blacktop is one of my favorite top ten movies. Always liked the look and feel of that film. Vanishing Point was good too. Lots of symbolism and societal commentary can be found if you look for it.
Ninja edit... wdfifteen got the blond's name while I was writing.
