between right and wrong? A lawyer lives near us and has stopped talking to us because we challenged him about a dog escaping from his house and taking a run at the mailman.
Other offences he has committed. He regularly takes his dog into the schoolyard and lets it run freely(when kids are not there). It is a bylaw that dogs are not allowed in the schoolyard. His dog is never on a leash. He says it is well trained and does not need a leash. Bylaw states that a dog must be on leash when it is off the owner's property.
He drives too fast. He gets a speeding ticket,. fights it and wins. This lawyer is no longer a defense lawyer because he works for the government. When a neighbour witnesses his "crimes" she asked me where he worked as she was going to report him.
I told her I did not wish to tell her because I wanted to protect his job.
This sense of entitlement is rampant in our society. If everybody was a lawyer like this dude(or acted like one) we would have a lawless society....
Oh yes one more thing. Our mailman asks us if we could talk to the lawyer because there is a wasp nest at the bottom of his front steps and he could not deliver the mail.
My wife's response was that he is unapproachable coz of the dog situation and suggested that he get a written notice from his boss and put it in his mailbox.
In my mind it is so much easier to do the correct thing rather than fight the law all the time. I don't get why some people make life hard for themselves.
