Been introducing my 11 y/o to classic "dad" cinema. We watched Andromeda Strain last night. At nearly 2 hours long and loads of dialogue I figured she would check out before the halfway mark. She stuck through the whole show and at the end commented about how intense it was. This coming from a Harry Potter/ Pirates of the Caribbean fan.

So I began a list of my favs from the era and came up with.

Westworld, Rollerball, Logan's Run, Soylent Green, 2001 Space Odyssey

Suggestions?

The pacing and length of scenes during the movies are so different than our current cinema offerings. I like the subtle political references in the 70's movies, good stuff.
