Grinding the pill and mixing with food item sounds like the best strategy to me.

Can you mix it into something liquid that they cannot turn down......like gravy?

You can buy gravy mix very cheap in several flavours....or get some in a can/jar.

Cats love to slurp up good tasting liquids - thus my suggestion above.

For my pups I use pimento spread...never had to administer pill to my kiddles.
