The fight turned out to be a proxy war between the HA, who doesn't have much of a presence in the area and the Banditos (however the name is spelled) who are the dominant MC gang in the area. In essence it was a high level turf battle between organized crime syndicates. There hasn't been much of a follow up or outrage because most of the people who were arrested are professional criminals, and as professionals they act professional without a lot of unnecessary histrionics. They know they deserve the sentences they're about to get and they don't complain and pretend otherwise.
On a related note, the reason you're hearing so much about Cecil the Lion is that Planned Parenthood hired a
PR firm to pump the story to minimize the media attention that the abortion videos are getting now. The idea is that if the American public vents its spleen over Cecil it won't have the energy to be outraged over Cecille.
