Thanks!
avi is the format that I have. Around 700MB each for the first two seasons then 350-ish for the last three.
This is to help a friend (
not a buddy) who has a life-long obsession with recording types of media.
He has satellite tv and records them onto a tv data box then burns them to DVD.
He is lives outside Oil City, PA on the way to Titusville (medium rural is a fair term) so he is only able to obtain DSL and they charge for data flow so he is screwed re the internet.
Just doing him a favor because he wants the whole set and is having a difficult time compiling it from satellite tv offerings.
I snag movies for him that he remembers from the drive-in as a kid. The Monolith Monsters and Kronos (both 1957) are recent finds. He squealed like a little boy when handed over.
He is sixty three years old. We cannot change his system. He does not want a stick. It's different. Chances are the stack of DVD's I burn will be cataloged, entered into the physical archives and never viewed. Note he still has daily logs of work he performed as a production machinist in the 70's. They are sitting right next to his Graf Zeppelin stamps and the bug collection (sitting on top of the beer label collection).
Just helping out a bro.
