If they have a shower enclosure glass that is textured on the outside that
might be something to consider as well. That would hide the waterspots
without the downsides of the etched surface. The trick there is
finding something that looks nice instead of looking like cheap textured
bathroom glass. There are good options out there but the selection at the
big box stores is going to be more limited.
