If you like the interface and features on the G3, then I'd stick with the Galaxy line. If you switch to an iPhone, there will be a bit of a learning curve, and you may miss some of the stuff you are used to on the Samsung.
Personally, I am running a Samsung Note 4. Although at almost a year old now, it's not the latest/greatest by tech-obsolescence standards, but it's pretty hard to beat for my needs. Plus, it looks like it's the last of the line before they go (went) to an all sealed unit and ditched the SD card slot like the iPhone (a step backwards IMO).
