Most folks seem to REALLY like Tarantino movies. He's made, I assume, a ton of money and gotten lots of critical acclaim for his movies. I like them...

...mostly.

I think that what lots of folks really like about his movies is that he goes really over the top. I think it appeals to the juvenile in all of us. At the same time, sometimes it feels a bit gratuitous. I haven't seen them all, but I've seen several and liked them or at least parts of them. I think my favorite was From Dusk 'til Dawn. I just saw Django Unchained, and I think it was a very good movie. Pulp Fiction was good too. I also liked the Kill Bill movies. Part of what made them great is the B-movie style that he adds, but for me, sometimes I think, "yeah, we get it already." I think some spots could be toned down just a bit and the movies would be just as good, maybe even a bit better. But I'm sure that if he toned things down a bit, the movies would change and lose a bit of their appeal.
