When I was a puppy in my teens, 20s and 30s I ate a ton of spicy food. Heck I lived for my mom's Chili. No beans in her chili. Just chili peppers and meat and onions. She won the blue ribbon at the Oklahoma State fair. It was HOT and could make you sweat just stirring the pot and that is NOT an exaggeration! Really.
About the time I turned 40 I had to have a bottle of Maalox next to me to eat it. It was brutal as just a chip dip salsa. She finally quit cooking it and I would love a bowl of it and a couple of bottles of Maalox to wash it down now.
I am a total wimp now with spicy food. I can eat some good salsa and go straight for the Maalox.
