You don't have to agree with the certificate but they have their opinion and a firm leg to stand on. Doing an event like that and coming around a corner needing the other side of the yellow line to make it is pretty irresponsible. On canyon runs and road trips I get
really pissed with the guys that just have to use more then their own lane on blind or close to blind corners just because they want to feel racey with their lines. you can drive just as close to the limit by using the center line as an imaginary brick wall as you can using the whole road. (
Especially when I am stuck behind them...)
The difference is you won't have to do a heroic adjustment just because someone is going the other way
doing exactly what you expect them to be doing.
Magnus screwed up big time at an event where no one had safety equipment, the media had cameras rolling, and he had a passenger in the car. The only possible excuse I could see for it would be if someone had dropped oil or if they had been told the road was closed for opposing traffic.

Oh and as far as the idea that R compound tires have less grip then regular street tires when cold...
Huh? (
.6G? Really?) Maybe if it was 35° out or you had Hoosers that had been cycled so far out as to be comical. R comps have more grip on dry asphalt at normal temps then your high performance street tires.
Auto-X times prove that. The street tire guys have zero chance even on the first run where there is no heat in the tires. Yeah they have less grip then when warmed up but that is still more then a cold street tire. (
Probably an observation from a person that thinks their car accelerated when they went off track sliding onto the grass. If grass made a car with no grip suddenly accelerate then dragsters would have grass injectors in front of the tires.)
