In 2003, Jeffery Jones (who played Ed Rooney) was arrested for possession of child pornography and accused of soliciting a 14-year-old boy to pose for pornographic photographs. Jones pleaded no contest to a felony charge.[16][17] His punishment was five years probation, counseling and the requirement to register as a sex offender. Jones and the aggrieved boy settled in Los Angeles Superior Court for damages related to this matter in 2004.
