If changing it frequently, and you are keeping records of use, you may want to send some samples out on occasion to test for engine issues. If you "feel" better changing it often, the go fore it. If you are being "cheap", well, then be prepared if things don't work out.
While oil is relatively cheap, the motors in these cars hit and miss under heavy track use. You hear of others that never change the oil and never have problems and others who over maintain and things go boom. Welcome to a possible crap shoot!
