Your targa enjoyed an unusual and unexpected price bubble.
Not sure when such a bubble will develop for the watercooled 911s, especially since they were made in generally large numbers.
The 996tt, well, it is a tt and with that, should sustain values for a bit. I haven't looked in a while but I haven't seen too many for less than $35K. I imagine the 997's will drop, but more (what are they, Mid 40's-50s currently?)
Of the watercooled 911s I would expect to retain values are
1) GT cars (997, 996, 991 gt2, gt3 etc)
2) Turbos
3) Then the limited cars, like the Club Coupes, 50th Anniversary type examples
4) then the rest, with the 3.4 996's living at the bottom.
