Garage
Well, if it didn't take hours to change the temp a couple of degrees I would think it would work. Just this morning for fun I raised the thermostat 1°F. It took over an hour for the temp to raise that 1°F and the cooling come on. Set it back to where it was 1°F lower and again it took an hour before reaching the correct temp and shutting off.

My thermostat keeps track of how long the inside fan runs for filter changing and to maintain the current temp it is less than 30 minutes an hour. For a 1 degree change it is running the system longer than if I just left it at the same temp.

When I replaced the A/c unit I got 2.5 tons instead of 2 so I could cool my garage if I wanted. Don't know why it takes so long to cool the house down.
