My son and I scour CL ads for old Toyotas (it's almost a hobby). He's got a 1988 2WD standard cab now and is looking for a clean extra cab. Some of what I've had:
1983 4WD SR5 long bed
1984 4WD standard can long bed
1987 2WD standard cab short bed
1987 4Runner
(plus more 4Runners and Tacomas and now have an 80-series Land Cruiser)
Clean, 1980's model Toyotas command a premium. Around here, anything not completely destroyed is $3k. Something decent is >$5k and nice stuff is $8-$12k all day long.
