Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

parking brake light driving me crazy

I ran down this same exact path. Battery disconnect, alternator check, brake fluid check, E-brake sensor adjustment....... All with no success.
Although, in the process of getting to the e-brake switch, I did discover a break in the insulation/wire to my auto heat switch. Repaired it and now it works again, so that was a definite score and win associated with the "always on" e-brake light. The battery disconnect mentioned previously, worked for a couple of drives, then it would come back on.

Then, replaced both brake light switches @ $20 each. Problem solved! Super easy to swap.

Good luck,
