PR tool to show all of us how cool cops can be.
it usually starts out as a confiscated vehicle.
if they'd just ditch the horse riding boots (i know, tradition and all) and riding gear that really only qualifies one to walk a neighborhood selling cable tv...
saw a CHP foto the other day of a "motor officer" wearing a complete leather suit that looks exactly like their long-sleeve uniform...correct boots and all.
maybe someday it'll go into production, but for now it's just like the bike...a
