on the 87 944 model you can bleed the system pretty easy. There is a bolt that you loosen on top of the engine, where your upper radiator hose connects to the pipe going into the engine. There is a bolt in the top middle of that pipe. loosen it slightly -you dont need to take it out- and then fill up your resevoir all the way and run the engine until water, and water only comes out of the loosened bolt. Then tighten down the bolt. Let the engine cool and fill the resevoir back to where it is supposed to be.
