I agree, strange question...
If it is truly "in stock" at your physical location as advertised then there is no reason it should not ship same day if order placed by "XX" time in the afternoon. That shipment should occur at your standard shipping rate, whether free or not. But it seems the question rises from parts that may be advertised as in stock but are located at your supplier's warehouse?
If in stock inventoried parts take 4-5 days to ship things aren't adding up.... that sounds like they need to be sourced first, hence immediate shipment may cost you more hence a desire to charge more.
