What happens next will depend on whether the bores and pistons are still in spec. I am assuming they will be...if so will drill the holes, rings and bearings. That's what the 928 engine builder guru expects for the miles and oil usage.
Yep, they put in Pennzoil and I been topping up with Royal Purple. There has been enough blow by that the oil goes black after the first tank of gas after oil change so don't think the oil brand mattered much.
Some of the 928 guys have been replacing the smog air pump with a vacuum pump with an oil catch can and putting 3 to 6 psi of vacuum on the sump which they claim stops oil usage. I prefer fixing the cause before applying duct tape.
